Community Based Sustainable Livelihoods –

Agriculture and allied occupations are main sources of livelihood in rural areas. Although the farmers have ample knowledge about cultivation, they are not well versed with the market and fail to make farming viable. The trend of rising input costs and uncertain market prices has taken its toll on farmers. Debt ridden farmers are committing suicides. The youth are unwilling to turn to farming and want to take up jobs, which are not easily available. Yuva Mitra has taken steps to develop local employment opportunities with the involvement of youth. Some of the livelihood related programmes are as given below :
